Fitter through menopause

Personalised 1:1 Reformer Pilates in Cambridge for midlife and beyond

Getting weaker and gaining weight does not have to be an inevitable part of ageing. With the right approach, midlife and beyond can be some of your strongest and most vibrant years. At my Cambridge Pilates studio, I offer 1:1 personalised Pilates training to help you build strength, protect your bones, and support your energy and wellbeing for the decades ahead.

The Pilates Reformer is at the heart of this work. Its adjustable spring resistance provides a safe and effective way to develop core and upper body strength, while protecting bones. Reformer Pilates also enhances flexibility, balance, and coordination — all essential for long-term mobility, confidence, and injury prevention.

I am currently completing specialist menopause training with Dr. Stacy Sims, one of the world’s leading experts in female physiology and exercise science. Her research shows that women in midlife benefit most from targeted strength training, resistance-based exercise, and personalised programmes that address the unique physical changes that occur during perimenopause and post-menopause. She is well known for her message that “women are not small men” — and that exercise for women should be designed specifically around women’s physiology.

By combining evidence-based recommendations with the adaptability of Pilates, your 1:1 programme will be tailored specifically to you. Whether you are looking to stay strong through menopause, improve posture and core strength, or simply enjoy a personalised and supportive training environment a 1:1 Pilates training programme offers a proven and empowering way to take care of your body for the future.
